Capital Cycling Club p/b Audi Cary is proud to partner with CBC Brewery, All Star Bike Shop, Audi Cary, Lowe’s Foods and the Greater Carolinas Multiple Sclerosis Society to bring you the 2019 Firecracker Bike Ride!!

Proceeds from the ride benefit the Greater Carolina’s MS Society to help fight this challenging disease. Last year we raised $15,000 for the cause!!

The ride begins at 8:00 am from CBC Brewery and offers 100km (60 mile) and 50km (30 mile) marked routes with SAG support and stocked rest stops. In the morning prior to the ride, Start Right Foods will offer free hot waffles and 5 Star Coffee Roasters will offer coffee for purchase.

CBC Brewery will host the family-friendly after party with OveRDUb (formerly known as Eric’s Attic) playing live music! We’ll have food trucks and beer for sale along with a limited supply of complimentary drinks thanks to Pepsi. CBC will donate $1.00 to MS for every beer sold

Ryders Run Event Saturday November 10 begins at 8:00 AM.

 

Volunteers need to be there by 7:00 AM, earlier will be better.  We will use C-440 Link system for talk in and at the event.  444.875 will be Primary at the event location.

All Volunteers need to sign up on web site for Course monitor, Web site may be modified with a space for Ham radio operators, if so check that on the on line form if they add it, this is for insurance purposes.  Also e-mail me if you are going to be able to work the event.

 Items needed: 

VHF/UHF radio, reflective vest etc.   Amateurs will be Course Monitors and may deal with traffic exiting the Food Lion and a Gas Station.  We will have Dan, KD4AGQ as net control from his Communication trailer at the Fire Station.

 

There will be three rest stops   We will have six fixed locations at the exits of Food Lion X 3, one at Cleveland Fire Station, one at the corner gas station and at Start Finish.

Thomas, WW4TLB will have a travel vehicle with strobe lights in case we need to transport volunteers to positions and use as a SAG.  We need at least twelve Amateur Radio positions.  Any extra positions will be placed at intersections on the course.  Based on info shared we will only need one SAG as a Fire Vehicle will be used as a SAG with a Amateur Radio operator on board.

 

So far we have eight Volunteers for the event.

 

 Please spread the word so we can have at least five more Amateurs to volunteer.  If a UHF radio is needed I can provide three.

The Five-O ride will be held on Sunday August 19, 2018, between Wake Forest and Durham in the Falls Lake area. Repeaters in the coverage area to be used are the Raleigh Hub, Henderson, and Durham. VoIP Systems will be disabled during the event that may last into the mid afternoon.
